During my visit to Sequoia National Park, I set out to hike the Marble Falls trail: a challenging climb that winds through the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
The 3.7-mile hike climbs thousands of feet and offers incredible mountain views, wildlife encounters, and small discoveries along the trail. Along the way I encountered deer, found interesting fungi growing along the forest floor, and stopped at overlooks that revealed just how quickly the landscape changes with elevation.
At the top, the reward is Marble Falls itself; a beautiful cascading waterfall flowing over smooth marble rock.
I documented the entire hike using maps, photos, and notes along the trail.
