The Mud Springs Trailhead is located in the Welaka State Forest, directly across from the Welaka State Forest Headquaters. The two mile leisure walk through the canopies of oak, will lead to the small, but abundant springhead of Mud Springs. This springhead flows approximately 13,750 gallons of water down a short run that empties into the St. Johns River. This trailhead is also in adjunction with the John’s Landing Trail, which will lengthen the walk to about a 4.5 mile trip.
