The Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is located in Northwestern Florida, in the infamous Gator city of Gainesville; where the Devil’s Millhopper Geological State Park can also
be found! Named after the nearby Lake Kanapaha (meaning palmetto leaf/house in Timucua Indian words), this tremendous 62 acre garden is home to 24 different displays such as Florida’s largest bamboo collection, and the most magnificent herb garden to be found in the southeast! Once opened to the public in October of 1987, this site hosts many different events all year round: from weddings, conferences and even the Spring Garden Festival, a horticultural event taking place in March that hosts 100+ booths presenting plant displays, educational exhibits and even arts and crafts for the visiting children! With plenty of natural exhibits, its easy to
spend all day engulfed in the beauty of the magnificent Kanapaha Botanical Gardens!
